Leadership of Haitians by Haitians

President
Julio Volcy

Chief Operations Officer
Edner Pierre-Pierre Jr.

Picture
Dr. Julio Volcy, is the Executive Director of Haiti Teen Challenge. Julio is passionate about sharing the gospel, and an innovator, constantly seeking new ways to bring healing to his nation.  He is illustrating that Christ-like action, powered by the gospel, will restore lives and a nation.

Recognizing that the church is the catalyst for a nation's transformation and vital for its long-term sustainability Julio is leading the partnership between Haiti Teen Challenge and Rendezvous Christ Church.

Born and raised in Haiti, Julio grew up fatherless and understands what it means to struggle for every need.  While he completed his University studies in the U.S., he always knew that his call was to return to Haiti to minister to his people.

Julio, his wife Suzette and their four children live in Port au Prince.

Degrees obtained:
Christian Life School of Theology and Seminary, Doctor of Ministry
Christian Life School of Theology & Seminary, Master of Theology Beacon University Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies & Theology

Edner's personal goal in life is to unleash peoples potential to meet God’s purpose for their life through Jesus Christ. He feels blessed to serve the students that God has entrusted to Haiti Teen Challenge.

Edner first started working when he was very young helping his father, one of the oldest arts and crafts sellers and exporters in Haiti. This experience shaped his character and knowledge that without labor nothing prospers. It gave him a head-start among peers when he went on to study Economics and Business.

His greatest joy from these early experiences was when his father accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior after he witnessed how Edner lived out his faith while working alongside him.

Edner has worked for worldwide organizations, such as Food for the Hungry and Compassion International.

His Christian faith guides him to be fully engaged in all he does whether as Secretary of the Board STEP (Theological Seminary of Port-au-Prince) or as a member of the Board of AEE (Child Evangelism fellowship).

  Men's Program Director
Erick Pierre-Val

Women's Program Director
Nerlande Coicou

Erick has been working with youth in Haiti since 2000. He has his B.S. in Social Work from the Faculty of Human Sciences (Haiti) and a Masters Degree from the University of Montreal (Canada).
Erick has previously held the position of  Program and Advocacy Officer at Micah Challenge. Before Becoming the Men's Program Director at Haiti Teen Challenge, Erick served as Youth Pastor at Rendez Vou Christ Church.
He is currently taking a courses in theology online. Erick and his wife have two beautiful daughters. Above all, Erick is a servant of God who received a call to make a difference in the lives of young people with a difficult past. He stands beside young people because the new Haiti depends on God first and then on them. "Haiti is kneeling, she needs brave young people to get up from the ashes."

Nerlande has a degree in Applied Sciences in Civil Engineering.  Most of her previous experience is in the field of management of construction work of various types.  She worked for G&L Construction, SETAM, ARTECA and was a consultant in civil engineering for a USAID project under DAI.
She felt rewarded by being able to contribute to the reconstruction of the destroyed irrigation system after Hurricane Jeanne hit the North-West region of Haiti. She will never forget the way one of the team members thanked her for the humanity with which she dealt with him in his work. In a career of almost 50 years no one had treated him with such respect and kindness.
She realized helping in the construction of a building is one thing, but helping to build a life is something quite different and amazing!
Serving at Haiti Teen Challenge changed her life's path and career plan entirely.

Her greatest dream is to have a long life, in order to be able to work, and through her work, offer hope and a future to our youth and future generations.
