Chrismene Eugène
Alumni Care Director
Haiti
I am Chrismene Eugene, originally from Gonaives. I was raised in a single-parent family because my father died when I was 2 years old. My mother was pregnant with my little sister. Facing the precariousness of all kinds, an aunt on the paternal side welcomed me to give me a better tomorrow.
After my classical studies (primary and secondary), a family friend gave me a two-year accounting scholarship. After graduation, I started working as a secretary. I was then admitted to the faculty of humanities and spent four years studying social work. On January 12, 2010, I received a scholarship from the Canadian government to complete my undergraduate thesis at the University of Montreal. Upon arriving in Montreal, the opportunity to do a master’s degree presented itself. These studies allowed me to have a master’s degree in Social Service. In the same year, I married Erick Pierre-Val and we have two pretty princesses, Erica and Sarah. After a long period, as a trainer for people working with children and youth in street situations (2013-2018). In 2019, I volunteered at the DJH men’s center especially in the alumni department. These volunteer opportunities have allowed me to develop a passion for this ministry as I witness the many lives transformed for the glory of God. It is a privilege for me to contribute to the transformation of the lives of these young people. Also, this ministry allows me to believe in the impossible since every day I see the hand of God working in the lives of the students. I strongly believe, HTC/DJH can contribute greatly to the eradication of community violence in the country; for a generation transformed to the glory of God! |
