Two weeks ago, one of my students came to me and said, “Teen Challenge changed my name. I'm no longer a gang member. I am a son of God.” That made my day because I know what it means when you talk about gang violence in Haiti.

And today, I strongly believe God is at work in Haiti, and Haiti will be a witness for other nations. Even in the chaos, we all know that because God is with us, we can face tomorrow.

It's an honor and privilege for me to offer a few words of affirmation and support for the ministries of Haiti Teen Challenge, Rendez-vous Church, Pastor Julio Volcy, and his teams. The challenges and complexities in Haiti have never been greater; all the more reason for us to get behind Pastor Julio and his teams and these ministries to bring the hope and heartbeat of Jesus to Haiti, where it is so desperately needed.

I do believe that when Jesus is present, there is hope. When the Gospel is being preached in word and deed, there is hope. When the body of Christ is doing what only the body of Christ can do in any given context, there is hope; there is light in the darkness.

I want to encourage you to continue leaning in and pouring out support. We want to be part of something that is really making a difference, and I can assure you that [HTC and RVC] are making a lasting, fruitful impact.
